THE STAR

THE IMAGERY
The Star depicts a woman kneeling next to a small pond, holding two containers of water. Her nudity symbolizes innocence, purity and vulnerability. The woman pours water on the lush, green land behind her to nurture its fertility. She is divided between water and earth with one foot in the pond and the other on the ground. Her contact with the water represents her subconscious and intuition. Her foot on the ground symbolizes her practical, physical side. Behind her is one big star—her inner self—surrounded by seven smaller stars, representing the chakras.
THE MEANING
If the Star appears upright in your Tarot spread, it’s a sign of good things to come. You’ve gone through something difficult, like caring for an ill family member or recovering from your own health problems, but it’s over now. Not only did you survive, you thrived. You’re stronger, calmer, more loving and at peace with who you are.

When the Star appears in reverse, it usually indicates that you’ve lost hope in the Universe and confidence in yourself.
